The color tones are gorgeous, Lorraine. The grass in the foreground adds to the pleasing composition. Looks like a frozen lake where people ice fish. A beautiful photo.

@laughingwolf: Smart thinking...it's freezing isn't it...my fingers are stiff with cold (I predict I'm not going to stay on the computer very long) that happens when you live in an old, drafty house)

thanks for coming by with your very sweet and kind words today dear babe.Actually i am currently doing what you suggested about teaching where i can bring my kids,ie giving home tuition,but apparently that is not enough for my critics who think that it is not a stable source of income.Actually i see it as a very good idea,that i can be with my kids and have some income,and i can arrange my own timetable.Education system here is very rigid,actually,most of my classmates at the local teachers' college have left the profession after their bond is up.My husband,also a teacher,leaves the house at 630 in the morning,and comes home only around 630-7 in the evening,and it is impossible to bring our children with us where we are teaching because the system simply doesnt allow for it. The ministry comes up with a 'part time scheme' for teachers with kids under 12,but honestly,this policy is not well received among the principals,who really are the ones who make the decisions.So part time teachers work about as hard as full time ones,get half the pay and at the end of the day,get ranked really badly simply because he/she works 'part time'.
Driving will probably solve a lot of my fatigue and travelling problems,i can shuttle them to school and for tuition but the thing is ha,yes,i havent got that darn license yet.Thats my new year resolution for this year.Learn to drive and solve half my problems,haha.

There is a compulsion to walk out into the white, to keep on walking, to get lost in nature, let the weather and the the landscape merge into an experience of solitude and calm. But then the light will fade into darkness and apprehension may turn into fear as the sense of being lost takes hold, a long night until dawn breaks and the beauty of the scene reappears.
