GJC from Kyoto, JapanWonderful image. I especially like that it has a feeling of weight to it. The framing is good as well. 23 Jan 2008 6:31am @GJC: Thanks a lot GJC, I appreciate that :) tyan from Singapore, Singaporebabe, gives me the feeling you are feeling sad and the cold is too much for you!*HUGGGS*Love the grainy effect and sepia tone, makes one really feel for the lady,as if suffering in cold:) 23 Jan 2008 6:44am @tyan: Good perception Tyan, I felt for her, didn't want to intrude so I took the shot from the hip, pushing the flash down and hoping for the best...thanks a lot :) Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaA sadness. I wonder if it's the cold or something else. I love the grainy murky effect that seems to reflect the woman's frame of mind and mood. Super. 23 Jan 2008 7:47am @Michael Skorulski: Thanks a lot Michael and yes I felt it and didn't want to intrude so took this shot from the hips without flash and tried to be discrete about exposure :) Hans from Heiligeneich, Austriamasterpice...one of your best pics...the blur and the tones....stunning 23 Jan 2008 8:12am @Hans: Thanks so much Hans, I loved it, but I didn't know if anyone else would, glad you do ;) denis from granville, Francebeaucoup de sensibilité dans l'approche du sujet... Bravo denisdubois.blogspot.com 23 Jan 2008 8:23am @denis: Merci beaucoup Denis, elle semblait si triste...c'était plus fort que moi, j'ai pris la photo (très discrètement) @See The Light: I appreciate that very much, thanks :) @ManuelaR: Thanks very much Manuela :) @eddy: I did too Eddy, thanks very much :) Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanA wallflower!.....Or just someone who enjoy being by herself! Félicitation! Cette photo est remplie d'atmosphère. Superbe traitement. 23 Jan 2008 12:41pm @Martine: Merci beaucoup Martine :) Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesThis is so perfect. The image, the title -- they all fit with the mood being expressed. I remember when I lived in winterland, feeling that way from inside my nice warm home when a new frigid cold day was getting started and I just didn't want to move into it. 23 Jan 2008 12:43pm @Viewfinder: beautiful way of saying it, thanks a lot Vf :) Betsy Barron : www.thebetsy.com from Glenmoore, United Statesgorgeous! Great feeling here 23 Jan 2008 1:16pm @Betsy Barron : www.thebetsy.com: Thanks a lot BetsyB :) @badala: I appreciate that, thanks a lot Badala :) clarence from Irving, TX, United StatesI like the extra grain, she looks contented in her reading. 23 Jan 2008 2:34pm @clarence: Thanks for your visit Clarence :) Barbara from Florida, United StatesLorraine you have me confused. I felt this was my favorite shot http://outthedoorl.aminus3.com/image/2008-01-18.html but now you outdid yourself. This image is very artistic as it expresses emotion. Like a homeless person waiting out the cold. I sense anguish or despair. Love the soft focus and sephia tones. There are great lines in the shot. So for the moment this is now my favorite image of yours. 23 Jan 2008 3:11pm @Barbara: The cold can bring out....moods ;) The second I entered the place I spotted her and I felt for her. I took the photo from the hips through the glass door, without any idea of the outcome.... It is a struggle because I didn't want to intrude on her thoughts or pain of the moment, but I just had to.I softened things up a bit to maintain her privacy. MJ from Delaware, United StatesGreat capture of feelings ....... I was the photographer 23 Jan 2008 3:33pm @MJ: Thanks a lot MJ and thanks for answering my question of this morning :) [terrorkitten] from Bath, United KingdomI really like the voyeuristic feel it has Lorraine 23 Jan 2008 4:19pm @[terrorkitten]: Phil, ooo that's a loaded word...still thanks a lot ;) Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaThis shot has a cold, sad feeling to it. "shot from the hips through the glass door" Exceptional. 23 Jan 2008 5:09pm @Barbara: lol I like that, thanks a lot Barbara :) Laurent from Lyon, Franceune superbe photo avec tellement d'émotions et la photo c'est l'émotion. 23 Jan 2008 6:06pm @Laurent: 100% d'accord, il y a une tristesse profonde et j'espère qu'elle me pardonne d'avoir capté son émotion sur film, merci beaucoup Laurent :) Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomI love the moody grainy feel to it and the simplicity ...really excellent Lorraine! I've got a shot on my hard drive that I took recently that I'm having major trouble processing in the way I want....I've nicknamed it 'Eleanor Rigby' after the famous Beatles song as it has a lonely, lonely feel like this one. Maybe I'll give it a go in this style and see what happens... 23 Jan 2008 6:34pm @Ian Bramham: Oh Ian, thanks a lot and please Post it, with your skills and intuition I can't wait to see it... Forouz from ., GermanyFor a while she has been alone with her dreams and you have captured this fabulous solitude with everything in it. Post processing makes the photo vaster, vague and unattainable. Well done... 23 Jan 2008 7:27pm @Forouz: Lovely comment, thanks a lot Forouz :) amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaAmazing and evocative candid, Lorraine!! This is really a Standing Ovation! 23 Jan 2008 8:50pm @amy: Wow, how nice, thanks Amy :) laughingwolf from Canadaindeed so, lor! :( we got a break today, +2C for a while, but going down to -7 tonite stay warm! 23 Jan 2008 9:00pm @laughingwolf: We're hitting the minus 20 again, oh well!
