Great shot, Lorraine. It has action, interest and color. Excellent timing and composition as the bus is just coming.

@Michael Skorulski: Thanks a lot Michael, I'm getting so bored with snow photos, it still snowing, it won't stop lol
It must be freezing standing for a bus, I bet they were glad when it appeared. Good capture Lorraine, the composition is really perfect.

@Richard_Irwin: thanks a lot Richard, hasn't stopped snowing yet...arrrghh :)
Oh, Lorraine - this is a great shot! Here in New Jersey, they wouldn't even be going to school in snow like that! Wonderful composition!
8 Feb 2008 5:31am
@Betty: Hey thanks a lot Betty, if they closed the school for snow, there would be no school in the winter ;)
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

@Daroru: Thanks a lot Daroru, I wouldn't mind seeing the colours of spring now LOL
I have to echo Richard saying that this composition is perfect... the school bus in the distance with the girls huddled and waiting... yet still gossiping no doubt! LOL Love this image!! We've got the snow and blow happening today as well... with winter storm/wind chill warnings.. sigh.. I'm going back to VF's site.

@amy: You're not kidding, I'm so tired of the snow, I'm losing my edge (for snow photos) ;) Thanks a lot Amy :)

@Wolfgang Prigge: Tu penses Wolfgang, je l' espère bien, merci beaucoup :)
Lorraine, this is wonderful. As many have already stated, the composition is just right and the school bus approaching is the exclamation point on the photo! I can't believe that one girl has bare legs out in that weather! ... I'll try to send some of our 75-degree Florida weather your way ... soon!
8 Feb 2008 2:32pm
@Judy: Thanks so much Judy, you also noticed the bare legs, I couldn't believe it lol oh please, please do ;)
Hi Lorraine, what a great snow scene... you are so expert at snow scenes! When it warms up we should send you to Antarctica for a holiday :-)

8 Feb 2008 8:41pm
@badala: You got that right my friend, thanks a lot Badala :)
This is the type of snow I remember as a child... We use to love to walk to school in the snow.. I won't tell you that it was 2 miles up hill!!!!!!, but Betty's right here in Jersey schools would be closed
9 Feb 2008 8:49am
@MJ: Is it any wonder we were in such great shape LOL Thanks a lot MJ
I love it. I love the snowflakes, colorful scarves and school bus approaching. This could be a classic wintery image seen in a magazine or elsewhere. Now if that were my daughter I would say put a hat on and where are your gloves and get out of the street. That is a big bus to stop and not slide.
9 Feb 2008 9:40am
@Barbara: That's Mom Talk, that's what I would have said LOL and also you are not leaving this house bare legs!!! LOL ;)
Magnificent and lovely, and the right moment with the approaching bus! Elle dit: "n'as-tu pas des jambes froides?" :)
9 Feb 2008 2:37pm
@Illuci: Lovely compliment and you're right about that, bare legs in this weather? lol
Always wear colour in the snow eh ? I can almost taste the flakes.
9 Feb 2008 5:19pm
@Jasp: Good to be seen :) Thanks a lot Rich!
Funny, I am not a "mom". I see the bare legs now, but there are tall boots. How wonderful that snow looks... REALLY!
9 Feb 2008 7:25pm
@Barbara: But you are Barbara, when you care for the welfare of children, you're a mom, whether you have a child or not...I know the snow looks wonderful...until it's everyday for ever and no sun, arrghgh ;)
Om my!....I've been offline for a day or so - what happened Lorraine. Is this happening now?
In the UK we think we're having a hard winter if we get 2 inches of snow falling.....and all the public services and roads grind to a halt LOL.
Great photo!
9 Feb 2008 7:32pm
@Ian Bramham: lol Thanks Ian, it just won't stop ;)
Snow snow snow! I swear this year has so much more snow. Very nice picture nonetheless.
9 Feb 2008 10:36pm

12 Feb 2008 6:10pm
@[terrorkitten]: Oh Phil, you would freeze your cute butt here...but thanks so much :)
This looks like fun. I still like our one or two days of snow every few years :)
13 Feb 2008 6:40am
@cool daddio: Oh Gosh Jim, you wouldn't believe the winter we've had...it's unbelievable, but it's ok, mock me...lol
I've been walking with my eyes through your portfolio and there is so much to see and contemplate that I start by this photo as one of the Cityscape and Urban category. You could equally well have included it in the People and Portraits, for it's a very, very, very good photo of those three young women waiting for the bus on a snowy weather. I'll continue
15 Apr 2008 7:55am
@António Pires: Hey Antonio, thanks so much and you're absolutely right it should have been under people and portraits category, I don't know what I was thinking, probably had a brain freeze :)
