Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanA well balanced composition! The light in the window is so inviting, though the door looks so stern. I hear a voice saying..."those who pass through...beware"! 19 Feb 2008 5:30am @Japanalia: Gabriela, thanks a lot, that's what got me to find a quick spot to park my car, 'cause I want to shoot the sun through the window....about the door? you have to repent first ;) e. from New York, NY, United StatesReally pretty. :) I agree with Japanalia. I like the light through the window. 19 Feb 2008 6:58am @e.: Thanks e. it did indeed stop me from driving on ;) Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaThat slight blue hue really adds to the mellow mood of the image, Lorraine. The composition is excellent and the textures of the door and wall are very nice. Very pleasing image. 19 Feb 2008 7:02am @Michael Skorulski: Thanks a lot Michael...the sun passing through the window and the light of the lamppost made me stop and find a place to park and shoot it :) @Craiger: Thanks a lot Craiger :) @ManuelaR: Thanks a lot Manuela, as long as i breathe ;) @DaveB: Thanks a lot Dave, it's def. what got my attention :) Mandy from South AfricaOoh, this is beautiful! I'm not sure about the no parking sign -- surely the "owner" wouldn't object? :-) Great work Lorraine! 19 Feb 2008 10:38am @martie: lol love your comment Martie and no, the owner doesn't mind these things, instead He provides the Light :) Betty from United StatesI love the contrast between the warm sun coming through the window and the cold blue outside! Beautiful shot, Lorraine! 19 Feb 2008 10:50am @Betty: Yes it stopped me in my tracks....thanks a lot Betty ;) Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesReally a beautiful shot, Lorraine! The light reflecting off the window gives such a warm invitation to come in. I love those moments when driving along and you see something that you just have to capture. So often it's just not possible, but I'm pleased that you were able to do so here. 19 Feb 2008 11:34am @Ron: You've said it Ron, I found that even being stuck in traffic can offer untold possibilities...as long as you have the camera with you lol Thanks always ;) the lightwriter from oosterwolde, Netherlandsbeautiful light!! i like the fading out of the sunlight in the window. 19 Feb 2008 11:45am @the lightwriter: I was fortunate to drive by at exactly that time Lw, thanks a lot ;) Helma from Tehran, Iranwooow ! very nice blue mode with best composition ! thanks. 19 Feb 2008 12:18pm @Helma: How very nice Helma, thanks a lot ;) Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, FranceNice composition. It has such a feeling of "a quiet morning" to it. I think the lighting coming from inside as it shows on the window is a real point of interest; I am supposing that the light is from the sun, shining through stained glass on the "morning sun" side of the church building. But those snow covered steps and door (with that lamp in the foreground) are what grabbed my eye first. Bravo! 19 Feb 2008 12:30pm @Viewfinder: That's so nicely put, and totally accurate, thanks so much Vf :) @Marek Kulikowski: Thanks very much Marek, I appreciate your visit :) Oeilonirique from FranceBeautiful winter atmosphere and light, very soft even the coldness 19 Feb 2008 1:24pm @Oeilonirique: Thanks very much Oeil. The wood doors and glow in the window are so welcoming. Nicely composed. One thing I would get rid of (before you box it up for greeting cards) is the sign on the lamp post. 20 Feb 2008 6:31am @Barbara: Oh you are so right about that, I thought of it, then decided it would add nicely as a teaser lol Thanks a lot Barbara ;) Ina from Krugersdorp, South AfricaThe colors in this shot is totally awesome!
