Beautiful. The green is really subtle in all that snow.
20 Feb 2008 12:23am
@e.: Hi e. that was my exact thought, I thought the mellow green of the house and the slight hint of green on the tree made the photo, thanks a lot ;)
First! Exquisite snowy scene. Hi Lorraine :-)
20 Feb 2008 12:30am
@Damon Schreiber: lol not....Thanks so much Damon :)
Beautiful and quaint, Lorraine. The light gives everything a soft look. I love the street lamps in your town. Excellent image.
@Michael Skorulski: Thanks a lot Michael, sometimes it's worth the car breaking down lol
Ooops, second - but glad to be back nonetheless.
@Damon Schreiber: Ooops not even lol, don't care about the order, love each and every comment, thanks so much :)

@tyan: Hi Tyan, isn't it though? it's on my way to the garage, to tell them my care broke down, see a good thing came from a bad, I had to walk to the garage and it was blowing snow and cold and totally worth it for this photo ;)

20 Feb 2008 3:40am
@Daroru: Thanks a lot Daroru, there are beautiful houses around that corner :)
Great shot! Although.... the word green isn't really what i would use..... yet, the word white is a little inappropriate too.. ^^
20 Feb 2008 4:23am
@Koushiro: Thanks a lot Koushiro, take my word for it, this is the most green I've seen in 3 months, except of course on AM3 ;)
You had a one day reprieve and now it's snowing again. This time, against the WONDERFULLY soft GREEN! I love the way the snow adheres to the tree trunks, showing which direction the snow was blowing. BEAUTIFUL!!!
@Judy: Thanks so much Judy, my car breaking down was a real good thing, and more importantly I never leave the house without my cam ;)
Another beautiful winter image. I like the limited number of colors here, especially in the house. As always, you winter pictures are magical.

Oh,my! You're again in fairyland!And... it snows, it snows on the city....those trees have such elegant silhouettes, I'm waiting for them to start waltzing...such a wonderful atmosphere, even the street lamps look stylish. Are you sure this is a shot in the 21st century?
20 Feb 2008 6:45am
@Japanalia: You never know Gabriela I was kind of transported by the image, who knows what century I might have ended up with...you know, those darn time loops ;) Thanks as always!

A storybook setting, Lorraine. I googled Gatineau to see just exactly where all that snow was falling. Just across the river from Ottawa, but in a different province, eh?
20 Feb 2008 9:16am
@Ron: Spot on Ron, across the river into Québec (the Province, not the City), thanks so much :)

Beautyful picture. The subtle green seems to be there to remind us that this is not a B&W shot!
20 Feb 2008 2:17pm
@standley: and thanks for noticing Richard LOL
The shot has a quietness, grand houses, of muted colours, and softened sounds after snowfall, its very nice.
20 Feb 2008 2:37pm
@Richard_Irwin: Wow I like how you wrote that Richard, thanks a lot :)
Well spotted. This is fantastic (again) Lorraine! The pale green house makes it for me.

20 Feb 2008 7:33pm
@Gary: lol Thanks Gary, but I'm not big on marriage, but definetely we're living together, gosh I love your comment.
You don't really need any more praise for this wonderful scene, Lorraine, as you have sufficient comfirmation already of its worthiness. Nevertheless, here I am to tell you that I think it's an absolutely beautiful image with great colours and atmosphere.
