Daroru from Amagasaki, JapanBonjour! Friend of yours? Are you sure? Has a look that seems to say "Hmm... there's ther with the camera again..." 23 Feb 2008 5:09am @Daroru: lol Good call Daroru he really wasn't sure, but I asked after the fact and he nodded ;) Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaNice shot. Completely unposed. He looks like he isn't sure he likes having his picture taken. Excellent, Lorraine. 23 Feb 2008 6:19am @Michael Skorulski: Thanks a lto Michael, you know there's always a risk, I shoot than ask later, okay I do occasionally get some 'colourful' verbiage but I assure them that it will be deleted ;) But he said okay! e. from New York, NY, United StatesVery neat photo. There's something very dignified about him. 23 Feb 2008 7:37am @e.: Yes he was e. and a gentleman about having his photo taken ;) thanks a lot! Gary from Cochise County, United StatesI agree, He's not looking to happy to have his picture taken. But that's what makes this a great shot. 23 Feb 2008 7:39am @Gary: Shoot now, ask later ;) a bit risky, but you get a feel after a while, I know the 'take it, die' look lol Thanks a lot Gary! Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesDid he voice a complaint after you 'shot' him? Funny expression; well captured! 23 Feb 2008 9:04am @Judy: No...but he did raise an eyebrow lol so I asked, he said ok! Thanks a lot Judy :) Koushiro from Singapore, SingaporeYea, i agree, Judy, He actually does look quite stoned... .^^" 23 Feb 2008 9:31am @Koushiro: Koushiro, It was first thing in the morning ;) Thanks a lot! @casy: Allo Casy, sur le coup, pas trop...mais après, il m'a saluée ;) Betty from New Jersey, United StatesOh, Lorraine, I love his expression! Great shot. I didn't realize he was carrying a shovel until after I read you comment, thought it was a cane! Very nice in black and white. 23 Feb 2008 10:50am @Betty: Isn't it priceless? Thanks so much Betty, he was a sports :) Man With 101 Names from Hamburg, United Statesvery nice expression ... looks like he is ready to take you head off with that shovel and I really love your pp work here , super shot ! 23 Feb 2008 10:57am @Man With 101 Names: And you know there's always that risk lol ...what name to you go under when you get a, hum, reprimand? Looks like it could have been taken in the 1960s. 23 Feb 2008 1:26pm @Ron: you're right it does, right down to the hat :) thanks a lot Ron! Janice Thomson from Courtenay BC, CanadaGreat expression chere amie but what's with the shovel? :) 23 Feb 2008 2:51pm @Janice Thomson: Even a great notary has to shovel lol :) dear girl ;) @Soco: Thanks a lot Soco :) @Japanalia: And he shovels his driveway ;) @Dimitrios: maybe a wee bit annoyed but he recovered lol thanks a lot Dimitrios :) Laurent from Lyon, FranceC'est vrai que cette photo fait très "exotique" pour un pauvre français comme moi. Je n'ai pas l'habitude de voir quelqu'un avec une pelle à neige ;o) 23 Feb 2008 4:42pm @Laurent: Eh bien mon pauvre français, visite souvent, tu vas être tout à fait étonné de nos manigences ;) lol adlibitumphotos from Lyon, FranceTrès belle photo, très vivante, beaucoup d'assurance des deux cotés. Pascal Very nice photograph, very living, a lot of insurance of both quoting. Pascal 23 Feb 2008 4:49pm @adlibitumphotos: merci beaucoup Pascal, 'y a pas eu de chicane ;) yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, GreeceI like very much this image - the expression of the gentleman and his shovel 23 Feb 2008 4:58pm @yiannis krikis: Thanks a lot Yannis, I appreciate it :) Barbara from Florida, United StatesI love the photo. The light, shadows, snow and background. My first thought was this is a person busy at daily tasks but always willing to offer a helping hand to shovel a walkway or entrance. Perhaps tending to an elderly persons needs. There is a story with the image. I don't see him as one ready to take someone's head off with a shovel. But rather one caught up in his going about and caught off guard. 23 Feb 2008 5:07pm @Barbara: Thanks a lot Barbara, actually he walked to the entrance to his office and made sure it was clear for his clients lol Well stay clear of storms, but if you can't, take photos ;) Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaVery Canadian and the shot has an elegance and a timelessness. 23 Feb 2008 5:35pm @Michael Rawluk: I appreciate that Michael, thanks a lot ;) Craiger from Vacaville, California, United StatesTo me he looks like a man on a mission with no time for photographers! Nice shot Lorraine! 23 Feb 2008 5:40pm @Craiger: Probably right Craiger, thanks a lot ;) amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaTres Canadian!!! (remember, I have only high school french LOL) It's the perfect "a picture says a thousand words". Wonderful, Lorraine... brilliant capture!! (but where's his Timmie's?? hee hee hee) 23 Feb 2008 5:43pm @amy: Merci beaucoup Amy, that's an excellent question ;) @Ina: Thanks a lot Ina :) @rem_la: N'est-ce pas? qui est jamais prêt à se faire photographié? lol merci beaucoup rem :) MJ from Delaware, United Statesi love the shot... but I really like the shovel. great capture 23 Feb 2008 6:34pm @MJ: Hi MJ lol I know, love the shovel Thanks a lot! @laughingwolf: no kidding, good eye Wolf, I only noticed after you said it ;) it was probably his lunch ! @Calusarus: merci beaucoup Frederic, I appreciate it :) Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesWell-chosen BW. Nothing in it really gives away the dating of this shot. M. le Notaire could have been photographed anywhere from somewhere in the 1950s, on up. A timeless portrait, IMO. 23 Feb 2008 6:41pm @Viewfinder: Thanks a lot Vf, I think it's the hat lol ;) Marek Kulikowski from Ostroleka, PolandW Polsce zimy nie bylo :( 23 Feb 2008 7:06pm @Marek Kulikowski: Thanks very much Marek :) @Betsy Barron : www.thebetsy.com: Thanks a lot Betsy :) HorseRotorVator from Newton, United StatesSociety went downhill when men stopped wearing hats in public. He seems to be surprised! Well done 23 Feb 2008 10:27pm @standley: He was, Richard, thanks a lot :) JoeB from Brampton, CanadaTypical Canadian, I don't like it but I'll let you take my picture. The toning gives it a early 60's style. 24 Feb 2008 12:56am @JoeB: Hey JoeB, you've experienced it, hey? lol thanks for your visit, I appreciate it :) @Elle: Is it? lol Thanks a lot Elle and yes I love the cane!!! ;) @Newbie: Thanks a lot Newbie, i appreciate your visit :) Porcsin from Debrecen, HungaryGreat action shot! 24 Feb 2008 6:07pm @Porcsin: It appeared so at first Porcsin, but he was a gentleman lol thanks a lot! Jasp from Plymouth, United KingdomWell I don't know..he looks a little furtive to me. 24 Feb 2008 7:51pm @Jasp: It's the elemental suspicion of human nature ;) thanks Rich! |
