SafePosted by Lorraine (Gatineau, Canada) on 9 May 2008 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio. A question for YOU! Do you enjoy having your comments replied to or does it not matter either way...I enjoy it very much, but if my visitors don't care, I'll save time not responding, unless of course there's a direct question ;)

Koushiro~光子郎 from Singapore, SingaporeThat's a way cool photo! Love the softness in the background and the mysterious wood "stump"(?) As for your question, I was really enjoying having your replies to the comments! Why'd you stop....T.T (sorry.... getting emotional lol) 9 May 2008 6:16am @Koushiro~光子郎: That's all I needed fKoushiro, a yes to my question, go back, I've caught up...I will never stop again. Yes it is a wood stump, thanks so much, snif T-Daddy from Dachsbach, nähe Erlangen, GermanyHello Lorrain, this is great smooth shot. I Love it, excellent. 9 May 2008 6:40am @T-Daddy: Thanks so much T-Daddy :) Anne from White Rock, CanadaHi Lorraine! This is a wonderfully soft hidey-hole you found! Like it a lot! As far as responses go - it is nice to get them - but on the other hand you can get around to post to a lot more people if you don't respond, and when you visit their blogs you can always include a thank you on your post. I have had to give up always sending out responses - except, of course, if there is a question, because I found I was staying up way too late into the night to get any comments posted! I don't mind - whichever is the easiest for you! :-) 9 May 2008 8:26am @Anne: I reflected upon the matter lol and decided I like to respond to my comment, and I like visiting...somehow I'll have to make the time...thanks so much Anne ;) @Alun Lambert: Thanks a lot Alun, I'll be visiting soon ;) Betty from New Jersey, United StatesI love this shot, Lorraine! Mysterious... cool, dark. Wonderful. Great find! As to replies, whatever you have time for. 9 May 2008 9:52am @Betty: Thanks a lot Betty, I love answering my comments so thank you for responding :) Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesLove the soft DOF, Lorraine. I do usually stop back by those who reply ... I enjoy it (even though I rarely do it myself [reply, that is]). I think you should do whatever it is that makes you happy!! 9 May 2008 10:20am @Ron: Thanks Ron, I appreciate that you look back, and it makes me happy lol Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsI never look at responses I get, and I don't use the response option neither except when there is a direct question. When I want to respond to a comment, I go to the blogger's sit and give an answer in my comment of the picture (s)he posted that day. Going through all answers and giving a response takes twice the time it takes when going through all postings of blogfriends. I hope they understand. At Flickr they don't have responses: a response is always a comment, so you can comment on your own post if you want to answer somebody who has commented. - Very mysterious picture, looks like the houding of a forest ghost! 9 May 2008 10:28am @Illuci: Really? well then I should tell you that you've left some beautifully worded comments which I complimented you on LOL. I like responding to comments, but this is just my thing, I don't expect it from others...but as long as others look back I will continue doing so :) Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesLorraine I like this photo, though it is not obvious as to what the wooden object really is. It has a nice, warm feel. As for answering comments, at my site, I'm finding that to survive and have a life I've got to pretty much leave responding to comments alone, except if there is something like a question. Generally, I don't expect any comments I leave at other sites to be responded to, except if I have asked a question. 9 May 2008 11:29am @Viewfinder: Thanks a lot Vf, well if you look back today (lol) you'll know that this is a piece of driftwood, that a bird or small animal or insects have made their home...neat hey ;) Saeed from ahwaz, Iranthats nice shot Lorraine! and for your question, yes! I enjoy it! 9 May 2008 11:53am @Saeed: Thanks very much Saeed, I appreciate it :) laughingwolf from Canadastumped... again? ;) lol do reply to comments, that's all i live for! hee hee 9 May 2008 12:33pm @laughingwolf: LOL well then Wolf you'll be happy to know that you can continue living lol :) António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalFor the answers to comments, save your time (for creating images), unless ... 9 May 2008 1:18pm @António Pires: Unless I can do both...smart thinking Antonio lol thanks a lot! Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanIs that hole inhabited? Some animal or bird's nest? Or...it was just your curiosity? 9 May 2008 2:39pm @Japanalia: Yes, Gabriela it's a piece of driftwood that some animal or bird or insect adopted, isn't that neat? to me it looked safe :) and don't worry I'm not questioning anyone's way of doing business at AM-3, just want to know if people look back to see if I answer, 'cause I love answering comments ;) @Daroru: Hi Daroru, it's a piece of driftwood some small animal chose as a hiding spot, thanks a lot :) Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaI enjoy chatting back and forth with you, Lorraine. I don't have much time to reply to comments right now and am never sure whether I should so this poll will be interesting. 9 May 2008 3:39pm @Michael Rawluk: I appreciate that Michael, very much and as I mentioned before I'm not questioning anyone's way of dealing with comments, I just wanted to know if people enjoyed it when I did so, because I really like to. So thanks a lot and I will continue doing so, don't worry if you don't have the time to do the same :) yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecea dreamy image - lovely framing and colors 9 May 2008 4:02pm @yiannis krikis: Thanks a lot Yiannis :) alex centrella from California, United Statesvery mysterious image, what will come out of that hole. I think its great that you respond back, it might be easier for you if you respond back on the photographers site, just a thought... 9 May 2008 4:03pm @alex centrella: Thanks a lot Alex, i really appreciate it, and I love responding on the comments I received :) ps this is driftwood that has been inhabitated by something small and probably furry lol MJ from Delaware, United Statesi love the effect almost mistical... as for responses I do enjoy them, but I don't seem to have enough time to give them back... with working and other things it is almost impossible... so when you can great, but it is not necessary 9 May 2008 4:48pm @MJ: Thanks a lot MJ it's a safe spot for wee animals LOL and I love responding to my comments, I was just curious if anyone looked back, I'm glad that some do...I respect everyone's way of dealing with AM3, luckily for me, time is on my side ;) Janice Thomson from CanadaWhat an intriguing photo mon amie. Draws the viewer right in. 9 May 2008 5:44pm @Janice Thomson: merci ma chère it's become a safe spot for wee furry things LOL also I love responding, I just wanted to know if some people looked back, I respect everyone's way of doing things, as YOU know, time is on my side ;) Mandy from Johannesburg, South AfricaI love this shot L - it's so nice and warm and welcoming! As for replies to comments, like most of the people have said above I find I get a lot more time to visit other blogs if I don't respond to comments, although I do respond if there are questions or if the comment needed a response of some sort. I find i have so much more time to visit blogs and see others pictures if I don't reply to comments. I am happy with whatever you decide! :) 9 May 2008 6:34pm @Mandy: Thanks Mandy someone made it their home, it looked like a safe harbour to me LOL I respect however people wish to transact within AM3, personally I love responding to comments, that's why I wanted to know if people looked back and enjoyed... Ras from Plano, United StatesIts like we are peeking through to see something that is hiding in the hole, I love it. 9 May 2008 7:09pm @Ras: Thanks so much Ras, someone has made it their safe place ;) @Ilnoir: lol good one Nathanael, certaine petite chose a décidé d'en faire leur résidence...:) Observing from Chester, United KingdomInteresting Lorraine. I'm late visiting today... so you are one of the first on my rounds :) 9 May 2008 8:10pm @Observing: Really, I'm sooo proud ;) thanks always Mike :) Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesAs someone else said, it's a nice little hiding hole. As for your question ... I like receiving comments - and offering them. However, I've just put a 'disclaimer' on my blog, because trying to answer every one meant I wasn't seeing any new work and that's not good. I like the idea of visiting other's photos and leaving a response there when it's appropriate. 9 May 2008 8:23pm @Judy: Whatever you decide dear Judy is fine with me, I just really enjoy responding to my comments, so i will continue :) standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceTrès belle image mystérieuse Lorraine. Cheryl from Boerne, United Statesvery intriguing image. is it a humming bird nest? to answer your question...I didn't know how to find reply's until yesterday.LOL!! I did enjoy them...your choice 10 May 2008 2:00am @Cheryl: Cheryl, It's a driftwood which some tiny furry animal made his home...and you're so funny LOL I love it, and I love responding to my comments ;) amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaOh, Lorraine!! Fantastic job on this! What an amazing and whimsical image. So perfect! As to responses? I personally had to stop because of time (work and this blasted dial-up). However, I can admit selfishly that I love getting responses back to my comments. Occasionally I can respond to comments but not often enough. ;-) 10 May 2008 3:06am @amy: Thanks sweety, that's all I needed to know ;) Martine Lapointe from Québec, CanadaAllo Lorraine, même si je ne te laisse pas de commentaires souvent, je te visites chaques jour. 10 May 2008 3:10am @Martine Lapointe: Merci beaucoup Martine, c'est apprécié je te l'assure ;) Barbara from Florida, United StatesI find this image very interesting Lorraine. A mystery of what is burrowing in there, I like the softe effect as well. 10 May 2008 3:59am @Barbara: I appreciate that very much Barbara, have no fear though I was not questioning AM3's visitors' way of transacting, I just wanted to know if people looked back -on my site- because I do enjoy responding to comments. I respect everyone's way of doing things, and I love answering my comments which I will continue to do so...luckily for me, TIME is on my side ;) @laughingwolf: Thanks Wolf, glad you enjoy the response :) Baz from Teglia, United KingdomReally interesting photo! Your question made me feel a bit guilty ... 10 May 2008 8:16pm @Baz: Hey Baz, thanks for visiting, and no, no, no that's not my purpose, I'm not questioning anyone's transaction practices, truly, I just wanted to know if people checked back to see if I commented, cause if they never did, even though, I really enjoy it, I'd save the time. This was by no means a judgment on other AM3 visitors i assure you, I'm just lucky that I have the time to do it :) GJC from Kyoto, JapanOne of the things I like about your blog is the conversation it sets up, which is hard to have if there are no responses. Only because of time constraints I usually respond to questions, but I do very much enjoy reading comments that people leave on my blog (they really keep me motivated!) and also the comments some people write in response to my comments on their blog. I find especially if I take the time to critique a photo and offer suggestions that I like to get a response (as I do when I receive such advice). Anyway, I like the liveliness of your blog so if you have time, keep writing us! 11 May 2008 2:51am @GJC: Thanks so much GJC I appreciate that and that's really all I wanted to know, did people look back to see if they received a response to their comment? All I wanted to, i would never judge anyone 's transaction at AM3 that was not my purpose. I'm just very happy that most people do enjoy it :) Ian Bramham from Manchester, United KingdomLorraine....you've raised a very interesting question as this issue is something I struggle with myself. I like replying to someone if they've taken the time to comment, even if it's just to say a simple 'thank you' and I feel that someone whose taken the time to offer C&C is particularly precious and deserves a proper response from me. However, as others have said, it's finding the time to reply as well as visit that is the issue and lately I've hardly been doing any visiting. I'm relieved when I read that so many people say they don't take offense if they don't get a reply...it makes me feel a tad less guilty. It's people like you and all the time and effort you put into your blog who make AM3 such a lovely photoblog community...keep it up Lorraine. I for one really appreciate what you do here. 11 May 2008 8:36am @Ian Bramham: Thanks so much Ian, that's a lovely thing to say, and believe me as I mentioned on previous answers, never was my intention to judge anyone's transactions on AM3, I just wondered if people ever looked back at responses to their comments. That's it. It's a practice that I enjoy so much...and Eleftheria, 9 years old, from Athens, GreeceI like to give answers too, but i don't have enough time.Too many homework almost every day :-( 12 May 2008 12:46pm @Eleftheria, 9 years old,: E9 I've forgotten what that's like lol thanks a lot sweetie :) [terrorkitten] from Bath, United KingdomHey missy! I like my personal emails...you dare stop! 13 May 2008 10:05pm @[terrorkitten]: Never ;) |
