Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaA wonderful capture, Lorraine. i like the blue and the splash of water. 15 Aug 2008 5:19am @Michael Skorulski: Thanks so much Michael, sorry I'm so late with my visiting this morning, I switched to my laptop early and it doesn't have all the sites I have saved on my main computer....ah to make a long story short, YAWN ;) Kylie Greenan from Richmond, AustraliaSuch soothing colours and tones and I like that you can't tell how close or far away from the shore he is, well done Lorraine! 15 Aug 2008 5:55am @Kylie Greenan: Thanks so much Kylie, I had my zoom with me, so I got him from quite a distance...actually he's my brother lol so he's used to my taking photos :) Barbara from Florida, United StatesThe color of that water makes me want to jump right in. Great image of summer, beautiful colors. I like the stop action and splash. 15 Aug 2008 6:11am @Barbara: How lovely, actually I went to the beach yesterday for some new material and there was my brother, on his day off (he's a landscaper) taking a swim, so you know....ps when I got out, I jumped in..yeah with my clothes on except for the cropped pants I had ;) Erik from Amersfoort, NetherlandsVery nice capture.. I guess he is training for the next Olympics ? 15 Aug 2008 6:15am @Erik: Nope, he's my brother lol he was taking a break from work... Great capture of this aquatic acrobat... er, swimmer. The blues are great, too. 15 Aug 2008 11:16am @Viewfinder: Aquatic Acrobat, I like that, you smooth talker, but he's not, he's just my brother, I caught taking a dive, as he had the day off from work ;) thanks so much! GJC from Kyoto, JapanClever shot, especially because of the Olympics. The inclusion of the floats at the top gives this some interesting depth. Nice work. 15 Aug 2008 11:32am @GJC: Thanks so much GJC, I didn't mean to be clever, he's just my brother lol ;) @Ana Lúcia: Thanks so much Ana :) Vink from Côte d, FranceTout dans le mouvement ! I love the composition - the swimmer, splash, ripples and then the floats to balance the action. Wonderful! 15 Aug 2008 1:26pm @Judy: Thanks so much Judy, I love the swimmer too, he's my brother. I was very happy when I got to the beach and notice that he was there, he had some time off. It was great too, 'cause after he had his swim, I left my cameras with in and went for a dive ...that reminds me I have to go buy a swimsuit, I have to take off my cropped pants, but I had a long summer blouse on, and of course, undewear, but the water is as DIVINE as it looks ;) bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaFantastic shot Lorraine! Love the clarity of the splashing water which you've frozen here. The netting (or what ever it is) on the upper right is a nice touch, too. Thanks for your very kind comments on my photos. 15 Aug 2008 1:59pm @Andrew Gould: Thanks a lot Andrew, the swimmer's my brother...caught him at the beach...also went in the water, it's so wonderful...;) ps your photos are so magnificent, it's hard to leave an intelligent comment, I just drool lol ;) tyan from Singapore, Singaporelove the dark blue water and the crispness of the splashing water, and he fact that only the arms can be seen. Not sure how the guy would feel having his photo taken though,LOL! I am really a scaredy cat,i have not tried swimming in open sea, neither do i ever intend to.The only experience i had was swimming at Great Barrier Reef in Australia but there was a netting that put a limit to where the tourists can swim, and the water current was already too strong for me,had a few gulps of GBR water in my guts now, haha. 15 Aug 2008 2:50pm @tyan: Thanks sweetie, I happened to know personnaly that he didn't mind...I found him on the beach, on a break. He's my brother lol so not only did I manage a few shot of him, but I could like my cameras with him and go for a swim, it was wonderful...although I had no bathing suit with me, I had a long summer shirt, so I just took off my cropped pants and dove in lol JoeB from Brampton, CanadaHere is someone who likes to swim, braving our cool summer, nice timing with the arm. 15 Aug 2008 2:54pm @JoeB: Hey Joe, the water was lovely, I couldn't resist had to go in lol...thanks a lot :) @Daryl: Thanks so much Daryl :) Gary from Cochise County, United StatesExcellent Lorraine. A real strong sense of grace and power represented here 15 Aug 2008 11:11pm @Ron: Thanks for your beautiful comment Ron, that's my brother taking a break from work (he's a landscaper)...it was good too, because it allowed me to leave my cameras with him and go and jump in myself ;) Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesAhhhh... looks so inviting... the water that is... I miss swimming like I use to - here, if I go to the beach I don't like to go out far... sharks and yep, they are out there... I have seen them swimming around... err... would never hurt them though... 16 Aug 2008 12:58am @Fliss: Well I got say Fliss I wouldn't go in either, not with sharks around, I don't scare easy, but that, yeah that would scare me....lol NO I jumped in this wonderful Lake with no sharks, no stingrays ;) laughingwolf from Canadashark did an excellent job, but still missed an arm! :O lol 16 Aug 2008 1:23am @laughingwolf: I'm happy to report that there are no sharks in our rivers and that my brother came out with all his bodily parts! if there had been sharks I would have jumped in to save my brother, would have been eaten too, and this photo or any photo futhermore would not be seen.
