Kylie Greenan from Richmond, AustraliaI gather this guy is smoking outside a non smoking zone? The heading is so appropriate. It has a wonderful "late night, back of the alley" feel to this image Lorraine, were you out wandering the streets at 3am again? ;o) 24 Sep 2008 5:26am @Kylie Greenan: 5 am dear...;) lol @Zygene: tout a fait, je suis bien cachee ;) dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Stateshehe -- looks like someone has forgotten the key! oh dear! do you really wander the early morning streets? what a brave soul you are! ;) great shot! 24 Sep 2008 6:32am @dj.tigersprout: nah, not brave at all, I was in my car lol thanks a lot Dj :) tyan from Singapore, SingaporeLOL.this may be good evidence for the boss if he wants any of this guy skiving around..you always make me wonder why you are there...LOL:) 24 Sep 2008 7:50am @tyan: Driving somewhere, I never turn them in ;) thanks sweetie Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandVery well seen and captured L!!! Waiting for delivery, or contemplating actually going in and punching in the time clock? 24 Sep 2008 1:11pm @Barbara: The curious mind....I like lol it's only 5 so I'm assuming he's having one before he starts work marianne from Toulouse, from France, Franceallez c'est la dernière cigarette, non pas du condamné à mort, mais de celui qui a décidé d'arrêter peut être ??? 24 Sep 2008 1:20pm @marianne: Tiens-toi tres loin de la fumee ma chere lol merci beaucoup :) Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesSo this is Am3 "film noir" at it's finest, I'd say. 24 Sep 2008 2:36pm @Viewfinder: Oh lovely comment...I like! Thanks Vf :) @Joker: Thanks a lot Joker :) leslie from norwich, United KingdomGreat shot lorraine love the choice of B & W, 24 Sep 2008 4:11pm @leslie: I appreciate that Leslie thanks :) Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesI watched my dad die of lung cancer. I'm happy for the resistance society is giving to the habit. I support the legalization of most drugs. I direct great wrath at the lying, manipulative manufacturers of these death sticks. I don't get wound up about many issues in society - but I do on this one. (Oh, good capture, Lorraine) 24 Sep 2008 4:22pm @Stephen Phillips: I can certainly understand why Stephen, my parents are both dead and they smoked, but still responsibility is with the smoker, you want to reduce the risk of dying, you stop smoking. Personally, I stopped smoking 15 years ago, knowing that I was addicted and I'd always want to, but I simply decided to stop voluntarily poisoning my body...still I miss it! And I can't say for sure that I won't start again, but again, It's my choice. Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaI don't mind if he's outed because I'm not fond of smoke. Your image is an excellent statement on the evils of puffing fags. Great work, Lorraine. 24 Sep 2008 5:47pm @Michael Skorulski: I don't consider smoking evil Michael, I stopped, but my sister and my brothers didn't, they're my family. My parents are both dead, they both smoked, but it's a choice a person makes. I stopped smoking knowing I would always miss it, but not willing to poison myself voluntarily...but still it's an addiction, and once you smoke there are no guarantees that you won't start again. I hate the smoke, it chokes me up, still...part of me, oh yeah...I remember ;) Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomTaking a break for a quick smoke. How did you get near a loading bay ? 24 Sep 2008 6:31pm @Observing: I have my ways...lol thanks a lot Mike :) Janice Thomson from CanadaThe benefits for or against smoking and whether one doesn't or does smoke has nothing whatsoever to do with the quality of the photo offered here. This is a wonderfully atmospheric photo with a clandestine feel to it ma chère amie - the black and white really adds to the effect. Excellent photography! 24 Sep 2008 7:31pm @Janice Thomson: The Lovely Voice of Reason, how cool are you lol thanks ma chère!!! jamesy from christchurch, New ZealandGreat shot Lorraine 007. Nice bit of controversy you've raised here Well done 24 Sep 2008 7:42pm @jamesy: LOL ha Debbie, I love it 'Lorraine 007' you crack me up, thanks a bunch sweetie ;) DaveB from Exeter, United KingdomInteresting B&W, although I'm not sure if I like the noise or not! 24 Sep 2008 8:10pm @DaveB: I hate noise, and it is very noisy, but thanks ;) JoeB from Brampton, CanadaMost artists go through certain periods, like Picasso had a blue period in his work. Lately I think your going through a "sneaky" period. 24 Sep 2008 8:34pm @JoeB: lol awww love this comment Joe, truly I'm moody and always, always hiding ;) Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomThats the way of things no I guess. A smoking ban in all indoor 'public places' started in this country some time back, and its weird being in smoke free pubs and bars. I love the atmosphere created in your picture, the dim lighting and the position of the figure cast a lonely future for the smoker. 24 Sep 2008 8:48pm @Richard_Irwin: Yet smokers look so cool, defiant, ahhhh, smoking isn't evil, it's just harmful, you keep it to yourself and you don't bother anyone...I'm a rebel by nature, although I'm truly boring...sometimes I just want to start smoking so that people stop condemning those smokers. Thanks for your wonderful comment Richard :) Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaHe certainly has the stance of a smoker although I can't see the cigarette or the smoke in this very dark and moody picture. Great capture Lorraine. Love your street shots. 24 Sep 2008 9:25pm @Marion: Thank you my sweet Marion for the lovely compliment :) Rui from Leiria, PortugalInteresting shot. The guy's out for a smoke outside a non smoking zone... hmmm... we continue with the sneak pics... very weel done Lorraine "Maxwell Smart" :o) 24 Sep 2008 10:12pm @Rui: Ooo lol what a great comment, I'm going to have to change my initials Lorraine M.C. to Lorraine M.S., thanks dear :) Hans from Heiligeneich, Austriawhat a great study...great- the lonely touch from this pic... 24 Sep 2008 11:24pm @Hans: Thank you Hans for your great comment, I appreciate it :) Rebel Streetshooter from United StatesLorraine: I apologize and I want you know how terribly sorry about the deleted comments. It had to be. I can no longer function on my own site for a fear of a "fatal attraction" event/atmosphere occuring. I've left a comment for everyone to see and I can only hope this matter is resolved. I still think your images are the greatest and will miss everyone terribly... onward. Rebel Streetshooter. PS: (x0x) with a hug. 24 Sep 2008 11:33pm @Rebel Streetshooter: Oh No! I'm so sorry to hear that Rebel, that's awful...I hate that you're forced to leave, that doesn't sit well with me...I love your images and you will be sorely missed, kisses and hugs right back at you... vu@granby - Gilles Martineau from Granby, Québec, CanadaUne couple de pufs avant de charger le camion, il faut pratiquement se cacher pour fumer, maintenant! Wonderfully done!! 25 Sep 2008 4:30am @amy: Hey sweetie...are you back? tell me you're back ;) @madcat: Hey Madcat, thanks a lot! Finally a vote of sympathy :) @Jasp: Very true, but they only have to worry about my lenses in the morning, i don't do afternoons or evenings for that matter ;) bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaYes, it's becoming that way isn't it? Yet I find that more continue to smoke...the irony! 25 Sep 2008 8:27pm @bluechameleon: I miss smoking Blue, I truly do...once you smoke, it's not easy to let go! |
